addi Click Interchangeable Needles

addi Click Interchangeable Needles

Addi’s newest invention, the interchangeable needle set we’ve all been hoping for, is on it’s way and available for preorder at a savings now.  Bob and I happened to be visiting Skacel, addi’s home in the USA, when the prototype arrived, so we were treated to a first hand look at the developing addi Click set.  We were blown away by the join - it’s simply a brilliant solution, which is hardly surprising given that it comes from addi.

Addi sought its solution not in the world of industry, but rather among the offerings of fine jewelry.  Instead of using a screw set or a key or any of the other join types we’ve seen, addi Clicks use a state-of-the-art jeweler’s clasp that provides an ultra-smooth, rock-solid, secure join with a simple push-and-twist.  That’s it, and then you’re ready to cast on with the smoothest, most solid, easiest join in interchangeable history. These needles are not only snag-free, they absolutely will NOT come apart in the middle of your 500 stitch project!

Not to mention that the tips are addi Turbos, the sweetest needle ever developed for general knitting and come with addi’s standard lifetime guarantee.

The Click sets will begin to arrive in late October/early November.  You can learn more about the addi Clicks and preorder your own set here.

All Colors of Nimbus 100% Organic Merino

All Colors of Nimbus 100% Organic Merino

Don’t they look like they want to bounce out of the basket!  Not surprising - Nimbus so soft and resilient that bouncing would not be out of the question.

Zitron has brought us another organic yarn to love! As the name suggests, Nimbus is soft, and huggably warm. It is what we’ve always hoped would happen to organic fiber: that some day organic farmers would have the support they need to shepherd their flocks into producers of the finest fibers in the world. With the entrance of Nimbus, it is clear that that day has come, at least on some farms. We are delighted and look forward to even more outstanding organic yarns in the future!  See all colors of Nimbus here.

All Colors of Kid Seta

All Colors of Kid Seta (a.k.a. Kid Silk Haze!)

Were we surprised when we learned that Schulana’s Kid Seta was identical to Rowan’s Kid Silk Haze: same fibers, spun by the same mill to identical specifications. What a find! Needless to say, we happily ordered it up and have been admiring it ever since it arrived.

It is one of the most “pet-able” mohairs ever spun - soft enough for neck and face without a trace of the itchy harshness of lesser mohairs. It knits like a dream, wafting from the needles like a gossamer web, showing no inclination to tangle or knot, leaving a weightless cloud of fabric in its wake. Aahhh! What a lovely confection this yarn is!

Whether you knit it alone, or strand it with a more solid yarn, you will love it. This I can promise.  See all colors here.

Empire Pullover in Alpaca Seta

A new modern classic in a great yarn - Skacel’s Empire Pullover evokes an earlier age while reflecting modern, go-anywhere excitement. Not to mention that the knitting couldn’t be easier and the yarn couldn’t be dreamier. This is one sweater that is love at first stitch and will go on to wear happily ever after.  See it here.

Skacel’s Primera Collection offers up this sensuous blend of baby alpaca and silk, giving us knitting possibilities that come alive with texture and cloudlike softness.  It’s subtle thick/thin spinning is accented by two plys that are themselves alternately spun tight then loose.  The result enhances the natural softness and warmth of the fibers while offering the eye a delicious ramble across a surface that beckons with changing vistas.  You love each stitch as it passes through your fingers and flows across your needles - it is just that enchanting.  See it here.
